Providing Emergency Shelter and services to abused women and their children in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties since 1983.
Located in Belleville, ON, the Emergency Shelter provides 16 beds for up to a 6 week stay for women and their children who have experienced domestic violence. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Support services such as counselling and transitional housing are offered during a women's stay.
During their stay at the Emergency Shelter, women are encouraged to bring their children to guarantee the safety of everyone in the home. The Children’s Outreach Counsellor provides support in the community in a variety of settings. Children who have been exposed to violence can receive individual and/or group counselling.
This program offers short term, goal oriented counselling for women in the community and former residents who have experienced domestic violence. This service is offered in Belleville, Trenton, and Central and South Hastings. Group counselling is offered at each location.
The Training and Education Program offers public education awareness seminars around the issues of violence against women and presentations on the services of Three Oaks Foundation.
The Transitional Support Program aims to assist women in building stable lives free of violence. The program may include safety planning, referrals, assistance in finding/maintaining housing, and advocacy with other agencies.
The Family Court Support Worker offers support and advocacy to women who have experienced violence and are involved in the family court process.
People wishing to volunteer may contact the Training and Education Coordinator. After completing the necessary application and screening process, training sessions are provided.
