Three Oaks Foundation

Providing emergency shelter and services to women and their children who are experiencing domestic violence in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties since 1983.

Founded in 1983, Three Oaks Foundation is an essential service of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties, providing a comprehensive network of support services for women and their children who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence. We are a not-for-profit organization with charitable status.

Located in Belleville, Ontario, Three Oaks Foundation offers an Emergency Shelter with 16 beds for a stay up to 6 weeks. The shelter is staffed 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Other offered services at Three Oaks Foundation include the 24-hour Crisis Line, Outreach Counselling for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, Transitional Housing Support, Family Court Support, and Training and Public Education.

All services are offered in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. All services are free and confidential.


Second Stage Housing

In 2014, Three Oaks Foundation opened the doors of Second Stage Housing in the community of Belleville, Ontario. Three Oaks Foundation’s Second Stage Housing offers women an option following their six week stay at the emergency shelter while they secure housing. This location offers eight self-contained units, including one fully accessible and two family units. A stay at Second Stage Housing is offered for up to 364 days and is Rent-Geared-to-Income.

OAITH Membership

Three Oaks is a member of the Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH) and as such, we accept the Statement of Principles developed by OAITH.

In a place where women and their children are supposed to feel their safest, this is not the reality for many.
